Coach Pilege
Patrick Pilege earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he played college football. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT). Patrick is the President and owner of Optimum Fitness. He worked for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a content expert, lectured for the NSCA’s National Symposiums and was a member of their Exam Development Committee in addition to contributing to the NSCA’s text books. Patrick is published with the NSCA Journal of Strength and Conditioning. He is a former Strength and Conditioning Coach from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Creighton University and played an integral role in Creighton’s teams winning MVC Championships in basketball, baseball and soccer. He has helped produce numerous professional athletes in the NBA, NFL, MLB and MLS. Patrick’s high energy approach and cutting edge style of training makes him a sought after expert in the fitness industry.
Sherrie Pilege
Sherrie Pilege is the Vice President and co-owner of Optimum Fitness. She specializes in Corporate Wellness design, implementation and management. In addition to running the business at Optimum Fitness, she also acts as a wellness consultant and provides wellness lectures and presentations to local area businesses. Craig Kersten, B.A., Physical Education, NSCA-CPT
Craig has been a personal trainer with Optimum Fitness for more than fifteen years. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he served as an Assistant Swim Coach for the UNO Masters Swim Program. He is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT). A Certified Swimming Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the American Swimming Coaches Association & is a Certified Plant-Based Nutritionist from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through eCornell.
Since 1990, Craig has coached swimming for all ages. He co-founded the Millard Masters Swimming Program, and is currently coaching at Common Ground Masters, which he has grown to the second largest Masters team in the state. He has trained Olympic trial qualifiers, state record holders and High School All Americans.
At Optimum Fitness, Craig provides a wealth of experience and expertise for bringing an individual into a fitness program and helping them reach their personal goals. He writes workouts that are carefully planned, while accommodating from beginner to advanced skill levels of fitness.
